This year however, they’ve raised the bar even higher, securing not one, but three prestigious awards!
The European Product Design Awards (EPDA) is an annual competition that both recognises and celebrates outstanding product design across various categories. It aims to honour designers, architects and innovators who push the boundaries of product design excellence across Europe.
The team chose to enter several designs into differing categories and came away with an award for each. One was presented for a HbA1c Diabetes Monitor, an impressive medical product in the Industrial/Healthcare category. Tape Specialities, the owner of this device collaborated with ITERATE on this design. The monitor empowers individuals with Type 2 diabetes to assess their HbA1c levels – a crucial long-term indicator of blood glucose control – alongside their daily BG levels, anytime, anywhere.
Another was Storml Trading London’s ‘UnderStand’ – a clever office product that was awarded Winner in ECO DESIGN/Sustainable: Work & Office Products category. Understand features an elegant, curved design that offers outstanding support for your feet and legs, allowing for a gentle rocking motion throughout the day. This promotes better circulation and overall health during long periods of sitting. Additionally, it doubles as a balance board, helping to engage your core while working at a standing desk.
Then lastly but in no means least, Gaia Group UK collaborated with ITERATE on the SolarWedge product, which was awarded Top Design in ECO DESIGN /Green Energy Solutions. This product offers a unique solution to onsite solar energy collection. By using a controllable inflatable tube, the angle of the solar panel can be adjusted from 20-32 degrees, enabling the panel to track the sun more effectively.
Additionally, in 2023 ITERATE worked on a product in collaboration with Swansea University and it went on to win a EPDA this time last year. We have been unable to publicise the exciting news until now so couldn’t not give this device a mention! Lēvyr is a photovoltaic carbon dioxide monitor powered entirely by light energy harvested from indoor lighting, intended for use within working environments such as offices. The onboard CO2 sensor takes live air quality readings and displays this via a desktop application. It went on to win a EPDA in 2023 under the category of Work/Office Equipment.
ITERATE feel incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to work on products that truly make a difference. Being recognised with the EPDA award not only validates their efforts, but it also reinforces the impact that thoughtful, innovative design can have on people’s lives. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, creativity and collaboration of the entire team and it acts as a motivator to continue striving for excellence in every project they take on.
ITERATE also want to thank their clients for reaching out and providing the company with the opportunity to contribute to such meaningful work. For most, the journey has not ended here and they very much look forward to working with yourselves more in 2025!
If you are interested in product development or are considering embarking on the product development journey, take a look at the ITERATE website or drop the team an email to arrange a conversation. It could be YOU winning an award in the future!
