Blossom Group is a technology start-up focussed on developing products that are associated with the Internet of Things (IoT) specifically relating to environmental monitoring. Rumble is the first product in a series and is capable of neutralising inaudible sounds that have been shown to cause sleeplessness, stress, tinnitus and migraines.
The aim of this project was to optimise the original printed circuit board (PCB) design for high volume manufacture and also develop a plastic enclosure that could house the electronics. The client clearly defined their user group, which was health conscious 18-35 year olds who had an interest in technology; as such, the aesthetic should appeal to this market.
“The team at ITERATE are exceptional and have solid engineering design skills that are respected in the UK and internationally. I cannot recommend them more highly” Dr Luke Sanger, Managing Director at Blossom Group
Various options were presented to the client before developing a final design. The result was a clean three piece plastic housing, similar in size to a matchbox. The product can engage any smartphone that has a headphone jack and can be controlled with a dedicated ‘app’. White noise played by the phone can help neutralise harmful sound frequencies.
Following the development of Rumble, Blossom Group are intending to raise the finance required to launch production via a crowdfunding campaign. Their patented technology has received attention from the international technology community and has been featured in publications such as: GizMag, DesignTaxi and DesignWeek.
