Design of desktop device capable of quantifying the brilliance of diamonds using infra-red technology.
TUI-Tech, who are based in South Wales, wanted to introduce consistency into the process of measuring diamond brilliance, due to it currently being a manual and subjective. TUI-Tech worked with a local University to develop specialised technology for the purpose of grading diamonds – accurately and consistently. The company partnered with ITERATE to create a retail ready, product enclosure design. To enable the diamond mapping and grading technology to be packaged into a single desktop offering. The design process focused on housing the technology correctly within the unit, facilitating a high level of usability.
