ITERATE Welcomes Roy Allen
This month, we are thrilled to welcome Roy Allen to the team. With a solid background in mechanical engineering, Roy joins the company as a Senior Design Engineer after spending a number of years working at Albany Pumps in Gloucestershire. Roy will play a key role in supporting the design team at ITERATE and ensuring that projects run on time and in-line with customer expectations. The addition of a senior level engineer increases in-house capacity to a total of 5 designers; consolidating the company’s growth and placing ITERATE as one of the fastest growing product development consultancies in the UK.
Roy began his career after studying a BA (Hons) in Product Design at the University of South Wales (USW). Shortly later, he joined Joy Global (now known as Komatsu Mining Corp.) who design and manufacture deep mining ‘long wall systems’ that are sold internationally. After this exposure to industrial engineering, Roy undertook further study in Mathematics at the Open University to enhance his technical capability.
Roy’s recent experience has focussed on the development of positive displacement pumps. His most notable achievement is the design of a new range of products for the fire fighting industry; whereby Roy personally created all of the critical mechanical profiles for the company’s screw, lobe and gear products. Due to the safety critical nature of this sector, Roy developed the range of fire fighting pumps to American and Canadian testing standards, whilst also adhering to ISO 9001:2015 quality control procedures.
